Airlocks
A first airlock gives access, on one side to the outside of the building and on the other side to a second airlock leading directly into the main clean rooms.
CSL is the foremost institute for space simulation, technological research and testing.
The common thread of our activities is the optical heart of space missions. From design to qualification testing, CSL is involved in each phase of engineering.
A first airlock gives access, on one side to the outside of the building and on the other side to a second airlock leading directly into the main clean rooms.
The five CSL facilities FOCAL X, FOCAL 5, FOCAL 3, FOCAL 2 and FOCAL 1.5 vacuum chambers and the shakers are located in rooms where the cleanliness level is permanently controlled. The complete volume is recycled 6 times per hour.
The C.O.E (Check-Out-Equipment) rooms are located outside the clean rooms, adjacent to them.
They are dedicated to the customer's EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) of the test specimens.
