Aeolus

Meteorology and weather forecast

CSL tested the entire satellite in FOCAL 5 during about 8 months. These very difficult tests have been made after other very long lasting tests in order to eliminate any trace of foreign gas on board that satellite.

ATLID

ATLID is an instrument of the EarthCARE (Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer) satellite for observing the Earth's atmosphere, part of ESA's Living Planet programme and developed in collaboration with the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA).

ENVISAT

CSL  participated quite a lot to three instruments Meris, Gomos and ASAR,  of the ENVISAT, European  satellite that observed the earth and its atmosphere from 2002 to 2012.

ICON

ICON is an American satellite to observe the very external layers of the earth; it will be launched soon. The instrument FUI, on board ICON, has been tested at CSL.

Météosat

Meteorological satellite

CSL participated in the tests of instruments on board the European satellites.  CSL is deeply involved in testing instruments that will be installed on the third generation MTG of METEOSAT foreseen in 2020-2022.

SENTINEL 1

CSL have developed software for the SENTINEL 1A and 1B satellites that use SAR observations of the earth and we also analyze the observations made by these instruments.

SENTINEL 2

CSL made long tests of the instruments MSI on SENTINEL 2A and 2B; they observe the earth at different wavelengths. CSL is testing the instruments MSI on SENTINEL 2C and 2D.

SENTINEL 3

SENTINEL 3A and 3B, CSL is concerned by the OLCI (Ocean and Land Color Instrument) being responsible for the conception and construction of the mechanism that allow to calibrate the instruments. We are still testing samples for SENTINEL 3C and 3D

SENTINEL 4

The SENTINEL 4 will be installed on the meteorological satellites MTG, the third generation of the Meteosat satellites. We are deeply involved in one instrument UVN through the flight calibration system of this instrument.

SENTINEL 5

CSL made very long tests, five months, of the instrument TROPOMI on board SENTINEL 5P, launched in October 2017. It observes, thanks to its spectrometer working from the UV to the IR, all the constituents of our atmosphere.
