Some equipments are available at CSL and can be used on all the test vacuum facilities.

Thermoelectric Quartz Crystal Microbalances (TQCM) is used to monitor in real-time the evolution of the amount of volatile condensable materials emitted from an unit under test. This is achieved by measuring the mass flow of contaminants that condenses at a specific temperature on its sensing surface.

TQCM use is highly recommended by the European Space Agency (ESA) to demonstrate the effectiveness of a vacuum thermal bake-out but also to monitor contamination during thermo-optical tests under vacuum.

Some TQCM MK10 are available at CSL and are used on the different vacuum chambers. The display screens (frequency, rate, rate change) are available in the command rooms and in the customer areas.

CSL can also provide various communication means between the data handling system and the customer located outside CSL.

The Residual Gas Analyzers (RGA) is an effective tool to analyze system gas loads and to differentiate different gas species or to detect internal or "virtual" leaks.

An Inficon Transpector mass spectrometer is available at CSL and can monitor mass from 1 to 200 AMU when the pressure in the chamber is lower than 10-2 Pa.

The mass spectrometer can be used on all the vacuum chambers.

All components and systems are systematically checked for leaks before mounting on the vacuum facilities.

A PHOENIX L300i (Oerlikon) is available at CSL for finding very small local or integral leak rates.

Cherry Picker

A cherry picker is available in the CSL clean rooms for difficult access.
