Signal Processing Lab
Since 1989, the Signal Processing Laboratory developed a recognized expertise in radar imagery and provides R&D support in algorithm optimization to Earth Observation applications in the field of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data processing.
In recent years, the Signal Processing Laboratory is also developing signal processing expertise in other fields of space technology for other laboratories of the Centre Spatial of Liège (CSL).
The projects in the field of SAR data processing are articulated onto three principal axes:
- SAR IMAGE PROCESSORS (Stripmap, ScanSAR, TopSAR),
- SAR POST-PROCESSING TOOLS (InSAR/DInSAR, PolSAR/PolInSAR, SBInSAR, WBInSAR),
- GEOMATIC APPLICATIONS.
For each of these techniques, the Signal Processing Group developed and validated its own tools, able to handle high resolution Spotlight SAR, medium resolution Stripmap mode as well as low resolution ScanSAR and TopSAR acquisitions. Collaborations through applicative projects allow enhancing the expertise, improving existing tools and developing new techniques.
